Affordable Web Development from Kenya for UK, US, Canada & Australia

A professionally built website can cost thousands in the UK, US, Canada or Australia. Microstation is based in Kenya, where a simple five-page business website starts at KSh 35,000 and a larger business site starts at KSh 80,000. That difference can make a serious website more accessible, provided you compare the scope, ownership and support—not just the headline price.
What do website projects cost in the target markets?
Published pricing guides show that professionally built small-business websites often cost several thousand in local currency. A UK guide puts a professionally built five-page site at about £1,500–£5,000. A Canadian studio lists CAD $3,500–$8,000 for a custom small-business website, while an Australian small-business guide gives a typical range of AUD $2,500–$12,000 or more. These are provider estimates, not official national averages, and each provider defines its own scope.
For the US, Clutch’s 2026 guide reports that web design companies commonly charge US$100–$149 per hour and that most projects it reviews cost less than US$10,000. That is useful market context, but it is an hourly benchmark and project review data—not a fixed price for a standard five-page website.
- ✓United Kingdom: £1,500–£5,000 for a professionally built five-page website, according to Media Village’s 2026 guide.[1]
- ✓United States: US$100–$149 per hour is the common agency rate shown in Clutch’s 2026 data; most reviewed projects cost below US$10,000.[2]
- ✓Canada: CAD $3,500–$8,000 for a custom small-business website in Mann.digital’s 2026 planning bands.[3]
- ✓Australia: AUD $2,500–$12,000+ as a general small-business website range in Small Biz Optimize’s guide.[4]
Microstation’s Kenya-based starting prices
Microstation’s web development page lists a starter website of up to five pages from KSh 35,000 and a business website of up to 25 pages from KSh 80,000. These are published starting prices for defined packages. Custom projects are scoped individually, and each quote depends on the design, content and functionality required.
Taken together, the published starting prices and overseas market guides show that a Kenya-based team can offer a more accessible starting point for many businesses. The comparison is directional: the guides describe different providers and scopes, and they do not establish what an equivalent project would cost in every market. The US reference is hourly, so it cannot be fairly reduced to a fixed project multiple.
Our starting prices are not a promise that every requested design, content, integration or revision is included. We scope the project first, then provide an itemised quote so you can compare the deliverables against local proposals.
Why can a Kenya-based team charge less?
Web development is delivered digitally, so your design and build team does not have to be in the same city as your business. A Kenya-based company has a different operating-cost base from an agency in London, Toronto, New York or Sydney. Clutch also notes that agency rates vary with location and that businesses use offshore partners to reduce costs.[2] The saving comes from the economics of where the work is delivered—not from cutting corners by default.
Cost alone is not a quality signal in either direction. A low quote can omit content, custom design, testing or post-launch support; a high quote can include strategy and services you may not need. Ask for a written scope and judge the deliverables, communication and ownership terms together.
How to compare quotes fairly
- ✓Compare the same page count and functionality: forms, booking, online payments, e-commerce, integrations and content management.
- ✓Check whether copywriting, image sourcing, on-page SEO, analytics, hosting and domain setup are included or billed separately.
- ✓Confirm who owns the domain, design files, source code and website account after final payment.
- ✓Ask how many feedback rounds are included, how progress is shared and what happens if the scope changes.
- ✓Get the handover and post-launch support terms in writing, including any recurring fees.
- ✓Open the developer’s live portfolio on your phone and ask for a realistic timeline before paying a deposit.
Remote collaboration across time zones
Microstation works remotely with clients in the UK, US, Canada and Australia using scheduled calls, email and shared project updates. Kenya’s time zone overlaps with UK business hours and part of the day in North America and Australia. We agree on practical meeting times, milestones and feedback windows at the start, so distance does not leave the project unclear.
You can review the work as it develops, give feedback at agreed checkpoints and receive a written handover when the site launches. For a straightforward website, a clear brief and timely feedback matter more than being in the same office.
Superb Care Services Ltd is a real example: Microstation built its website for a UK-based live-in and elderly care provider, delivering the project remotely from Nairobi. You can view Superb Care Services and read the project details in our portfolio.
